Introducing the JP Australia Magic Wave S-TEC 2026.

A magic formula for the perfect performance blend

Developing a next-generation waveboard is no easy task. A great board must adapt to different riding styles and perform in a wide range of conditions. Following the extremely high standards set by the Ultimate Wave series, the challenge was to develop a board that could stand alongside it and become the top choice for our team riders on tour, allowing them to outperform the competition even in less than ideal conditions. After countless hours of testing and refining several prototypes, we found a shape that not only meets our expectations, but exceeds them.

Easy planing, explosive acceleration, and seamless control—this is where the new Magic Wave really shows its stuff. Incredibly fast on the plane and with unparalleled upwind performance, the board takes you exactly where you need to be to catch every wave perfectly. Once on it, the board unleashes its MAGIC: whether upwind turns or down-the-line, the Magic Wave delivers acceleration and flow with every transition. Front foot or back foot, the board adapts to your stance and style, giving you complete confidence in every wave.

S-TEC

This year, our groundbreaking S-TEC technology stands out, used for the first time in the JP series. The weight has been impressively reduced: the new Magic Wave generation is around 500 grams lighter. This has been achieved through several key changes:

  • No varnish

  • Anti-slip only in the standing area

  • Smaller pads, less EVA and adhesive

  • Elimination of the rear center fin box

  • Optimized lamination process, fibers prepared and laminated separately

Durability remains at the usual level thanks to the replacement of Innegra with high-quality S-glass, combined with biax carbon reinforcements and UD carbon layers under the high-density PVC. In addition, the bottom laminate now runs over the rails instead of ending at the tuck line. Together with the overlapping deck laminate, it acts as an additional stringer along the rails, increasing stiffness and strengthening the rails at the same time.

Not only does this give the board a new look, but it is also over half a kilo lighter and delivers a completely new riding experience.

Shaper Werner Gnigler has revised the outline of the Magic Wave to create a new balance between control and maneuverability. A wider tail with the familiar swallow tail improves early planing and makes the board particularly agile for radical turns in smaller waves. A slightly narrower nose provides greater precision without compromising overall stability. Floating balance was also a key design goal, making it easier to get through white water and get onto the plane faster, even in marginal conditions.

A more centered balance point allows for faster rotations and more radical transitions on the wave. With rearward-shifted foot and fin boxes, the board delivers powerful backfoot turns with exceptional control. The more parallel tail outline provides grip and precision and supports both front and rear foot styles.

The bottom shape has also been refined. The proven concept of a flat scoop rocker line in the middle separated from the rail line has been retained but optimized. A stronger V in the front area brings more rail curve, making tight turns smoother and riding in choppy conditions even more enjoyable.

Further performance improvements come from the coordination of the footstrap and fin box positions. All these details make the Magic Wave more responsive, versatile, and simply more fun, no matter what conditions await you.
