The AEON Foil has achieved legendary status within the windsurfing scene. There is no other foil that has shaken up the World Cup scene like it. The focus on control, coupled with technological refinements and a new understanding of foil development, have helped riders to achieve top performances.
Patrik Diethelm will now transfer precisely this concept to wingfoiling. Naturally, expectations are extremely high - will the AEON Foil once again become a quasi-monopoly for all those who want maximum performance?
We spoke to insiders at Patrik and found out some exciting information!
One of the most exciting questions is probably whether the Wing-AEON is fundamentally different in design. The answer to this question is a simple "no". The basis, i.e. the mast, fuselage and to some extent the front wing technology, is taken one-to-one from windsurfing. However, with appropriate adaptations.
The masts of the AEON remain identical. Patrik Diethelm has created such a masterpiece here that no adjustments to the wings are necessary. The XS masts, which will be even thinner in the future, should be particularly exciting for wing racers. Although we expect astronomical prices here, there will probably be no competition on the market for the time being.
Wingfoil titanium and aluminum fuselages will of course continue to be available. These will be significantly shorter in places than the fuselages of windsurfers - as is usual with wings. The XS version will also be available in the future, which is even thinner but also offers less control.
We were only able to get a few details about the front and back wings. But what we were able to find out is that the windsurf front wings will be compatible and will be used in the Racing & Speed wings. There will also be a range of additional wings. Whether for downwinding or other special applications, Patrik will cover the entire range of wings.
We are of course super excited about everything that is to come. If Patrik can deliver such a resounding success a second time, that would of course be incredible.
