At the beginning of July, Christopher and Mario got down to business. The PWA held its second event on the island of Brac in Croatia, and we were there.
Mario, who had been preparing for the competition season throughout the winter, traveled south a week before the competition. Unfortunately, the car journey was a little too intense, leaving him completely exhausted. Christopher followed shortly afterwards, wanting to document the event and, of course, to experience the epic conditions for himself!
Christopher, who is responsible for finances, logistics, and other planning-intensive processes at our company, quickly got his brother to pack his bags and then they boarded the plane.
Two days later, the event began. Mario, who could barely walk long distances due to dizziness, was determined to give it a try and was lucky. As soon as he came into contact with the cool water, his blood pressure rose and he was able to compete in all the races. Albeit under less than ideal conditions.
The Future Fly boards & Avanti sails showed their best side with their extremely easy handling, Mario gave his all to compete with the PWA riders, and so the week flew by.
After 10 eliminations in slalom and Foil slalom, Mario finished in a solid 26th place and was able to achieve a remarkable result despite his illness. Of course, the top PWA riders were still a few lengths ahead of him, but that will surely come with experience!
Christopher also filmed two vlogs for Mario's YouTube channel during the event (Mario is currently editing them), which will be published in the coming days.
