We present the CLAMCLEAT® Junior Racing Clamp CL230
The bottom roller of the Clamcleat® CL230 allows ropes to enter the cleat from below. Ideal for bringing a rope through a surface. Can also be rigged on a rope for 1:1 or 2:1 advantage.
CL230 is ideal for through-deck and through-mast applications. Images show it being used for Cunningham and Kicker controls on an International 14 dinghy. Also for tensioning the sunshade on yachts and powerboats, where the dark grey CL230AN looks good on carbon fiber poles. The CL824 Riser Pad can be used to raise CL230 so roller is above a surface. Allows a round hole to be drilled for the rope.
The CL230 can also be rigged on a rope. We recommend using a PT230SSE to aid rope release. For trapeze adjustment, with 4 or 5mm ropes, a CL834 handle can be fitted. (A lower cost alternative to the PT230SSE is PTLINK)
Available in two finishes:
- CL230 has a silver stove enamel finish for a cost effective, high quality coating.
- CL230AN has a hard anodized finish to give a harder wearing surface.
A nylon version also available for lower loads, see CL203/S2
To cut a smaller hole in the deck, the CL230 can be raised by using CL824 Riser Pad.
Fitting PT422&23 Insulators between cleat and carbon spars will prevent galvanic corrosion. When used with hard anodised cleats the insulators are almost invisible. Fitting 2 insulator pads under the CL230 also raises the roller enough to cut a round hole in the deck.
If rigging in mid-air, using a PR230SSE Rope Guide makes releasing the rope a lot easier.
Fitting a PTLINK does the same.
CL253 is an alloy cleat that also rigs on a rope.
CL211 Mk1 is a standard alloy deck cleat, without the bottomroller.
