By trading thickness for extra length, these latest MIDLENGTH boards now offer better balance and glide in light winds. The improved volume distribution - especially in the nose - provides more stability, while the rounded bottom in the front area improves glide, resulting in smoother takeoffs and landings.
Thanks to a slightly wider tail, stability is maintained, while the slim outline and parallel rails promote glide and speed when taking off. The step on the bottom near the tail creates a clean break to channel the water flow at the tail without creating excessive drag in motion. By eliminating the central step on the bottom that was previously located in front of the twin tracks, the board is compatible with Foil Drives.
The overall redesign of the board has reduced volume in every board size compared to the first edition. For example, the previous 5'10 MIDLENGTH board corresponds to a 6'2 in the new series, with a volume of 95L compared to 120L for the same size before.
The new MIDLENGTH continues to excel in light winds, but many riders will appreciate it in a variety of conditions, as these boards don't feel cumbersome thanks to their narrow width. The reduced width also makes it much easier to carve and turn. These boards can now also be used as SUPs by advanced riders looking for agile shapes in waves or short downwinders.
The ROCKET WING MIDLENGTH benefits from ultra-light bamboo deck construction. By using only a single layer of bamboo on the deck, this construction has been optimized to ensure that the board is as light as possible while still providing strength and durability. The feel of the Foils is very direct and control is assured throughout the session, even at high speeds.
