Introducing the NeilPryde Fly II Wing.
The 2024 FLY II is a leap forward from its predecessor: new materials, even more advanced 3D shapes, and a host of innovations significantly improve performance and riding experience.
While retaining the unique concept of high lift coefficient, the FLY II offers greater stiffness combined with balanced twist behavior, which significantly improves handling and control in strong winds. The tension distribution, derived from windsurfing sail design, has been fine-tuned to improve upwind speed and handling during maneuvers. The front profile has been redesigned to increase control with a close-hauled Wing – a big advantage when trapeze sailing too. Additional leading edge (LE) segments on the Wing tips reduce drag, provide increased stiffness, and allow for a more upright wing position. The front tube has been equipped with additional stiffening in the middle of the leading edge, which increases stability in the area in front of the fill panel and makes the Wing significantly more forgiving when turning.
The FLY II is now made entirely from Teijin LE Dacron, which significantly improves profile stability. The trailing edge panels are made of Challenge Code 95, providing exceptional stiffness and long-lasting shape stability. The front windows are still made of clear PVC, and the rear windows are now equipped with Dyneema X-Ply for an optimal balance between visibility, low weight, and durability. The newly designed and positioned windows offer significantly improved visibility.
The range of size options between 4.0 and 6.0 is unique to the Fly II. Compared to the previous model, the size selection between 1.8 and 3.5 has been simplified to make it easier to choose the right size.
