We present the Point-7 AC-1 SPEED 2024 sail.
A commentary from Wind Lounge:
The AC1 Speed really is a rarity. Getting a high-quality speed windsurf sail for less than €1000 is not only the exception, but very rare. This is due to the extremely small production and purchase quantities, which make a worthwhile series production difficult. The Point 7 AC-1 Speed is an exciting option for those who want the ultimate kick and value every knot. We would like to point out that this is a speed sail and not a slalom sail. The concept and sail design is geared towards downwind courses. Running upwind and relaxed cruising are therefore not the main disciplines of this sail. But neither should they be, because it is an uncompromising speed sail. Enjoy further browsing and the product description from Point 7.

Materials
4mil Anti UV- X-ply base panel to protect against accidents.
Anti-UV transparent gray sail window for a 100% anti-UV monofilm sail.
X-ply mast pocket for fast reflex.
Wide Dacron lower mast pocket for extra performance and comfort. 3 camber for maximum performance.
X-ply alternating batten pockets for lighter weight and reflex. 7 tubular battens, with 7 different setups to meet the purebred slalom profile in the best possible quality. Battens seven and six consist of a special construction of 3 differently profiled batten sections.
Sail areas:
The absolute hammer if you like dragster triggers!
XXXL mast pocket, deep sail profile from bottom to top for extreme performance and stability in downwind racing.
A true winglet (reduces drag and air turbulence, giving more power and control) is located at the top of the first batten, which acts like close the gap on the board deck. No loss of performance from the upper part of the sail.
The sail design accelerates the wind as it leaves the sail and allows more wind to flow into the profile, generating extreme propulsion.
The sail automatically adjusts its power thanks to the S-shaping along the entire opening in the middle to upper leech to increase or decrease the Venturi effect in the sail depending on the situation.
Only one clew eyelet, which ensures that the control of the S-shape and the leech tension are controlled from the optimum point in the clew, i.e. exactly where the eyelet is located.
You can close the gap between the extra low downhaul and the board deck to the millimeter (close the gap). And if it really gets too much, the almost imperceptible S-shape of the base batten allows pressure to escape under extremely overpowered conditions.
His character:
You can immediately see that the deep downhaul and the XXXL mast pocket can only mean one thing: brute power without end!The gray martial design is hard to resist .All you want to do is get on the water and start the engine. A 3-camber 7-batten setup gives the unbridled power stability and controllability. Gentlemen, start your engines! But fasten your seatbells first!
On the water:
Plug & 0.7. When you go out on the water, you can only imagine what an awesome powerhouse you have in your hands. So be ready and buckle up, because the sail has such propulsion and such crazy acceleration that you'll be scared of the high speed you'll reach extremely quickly. You won't need a GPS to realize that you've never been so fast. The AC-One Speed pushes the board deck down, eliminating any unwanted nose lift on nervous boards and smoothing out anything in the way! It's as if you were switching on a second supercharged turbo with the AC-One Speed. The control at extremely high speeds is amazing and you will soon discover that the handling also allows you to use it on smaller slalom boards / speedboards.
Development goal:
To be the record holder! Nothing else.
The rigging:
With the AC-1 Speed, the mast must be inserted over the cambers into the wide mast pocket. After the luff has been tightened to about 15 cm before the final luff tension, you can either tighten the clew a little using the boom and then fold the cambers before finally pushing the luff through, or you can fold the cambers using the correct technique, then tighten the luff tensioner finally and attach the clew to the boom at the end. You can find further instructions and videos in the support section of our website. Playing with the clew tension (outhaul) increases performance (less tension) or increases control (more tension). Add tension to the bottom two battens and the top batten of the sail, but only tension the other battens just enough to remove the wrinkles without adding too much tension to the battens.
