The screws that hold the foils together are particularly affected. When stainless steel, titanium or carbon come into contact with aluminum, a reaction occurs that can practically weld them together. Over time, the materials can become brittle and break.
The insulating and water-repellent properties of the Shield Gel create a barrier between the screws and the aluminum, preventing the corrosion process.
The gel also lubricates, making the film quicker and easier to install or remove.
