Point-7 - The Dark Side of Windsurfing

Even if Point-7 is known to every windsurfer, the brand is actually still quite young. In 2005, founder and PWA professional Andrea Cucchi realized his dream and set the starting signal for a wild ride (literally). The black sails were initially known for two things: they were extremely fast and unfortunately also very heavy.

The initial hurdles came to an end in 2013 when the Black Team was launched. Andrea Cucchi named almost all young talents in slalom under contract and the hype began. While the sails became the fastest on the market and lighter and lighter, the long-awaited results in the PWA also came. In 2016 Matteo Iachino became world champion and to list all the other regatta successes would take too long here.

Point-7 still stands for two things today, but no longer fast and heavy, but fast and customer friendly. That's why Point-7 is one of our top favorites among windsurfing brands. Hardly any other brand has developed so far and is so responsive to the needs of its customers!

Point-7

Freerace and freeride sails

  • the best price/performance ratio on the market!
  • The top priority is performance!

+ a dream for every freerider / freeracer!

Point-7 AC-K

The Point-7 AC-K is therefore basically an easier to ride variant of the AC-One. The number of cams is identical, only the mast pocket is slightly narrower. The final speed is therefore virtually identical - only the acceleration is minimally slower. For 90% of windsurfers who don't race but still want maximum performance, this sail is the right choice. The last extra 10% performance, which the AC-One delivers, is not to be driven out for non-professionals anyway.

Point-7 AC-Z

The Point-7 AC-Z is basically like the AC-K, but with an ingeniously adapted mast pocket and one less camber. The mast pocket has been cut in half in the middle of the sail, which prevents it from filling up with water. This makes the sail much more accessible for all windsurfers for whom performance is important, but who are still regularly in the water. The one less camber also makes rotation easier. Of course, you have to make slight sacrifices in acceleration. Since this model was also developed on the basis of the AC-One, the final speed is almost identical to the slalom sail!

Point-7 AC-X

The Point-7 AC-X manages without camber. Ultimately, it is the only no-cam sail on the windsurfing market, which you can clearly see the slalom characteristics on the water. Of course, the profile is not as firm as the AC-Z & AC-K, but the final speed has not been spared. By the way, this becomes clear when setting up the sail. There is no other no-cam sail, which brings so much loose leech. Thus, the sail glides minimally later, but is unbeatable in free flight - at least in comparison with other no-cam sails!
