What's new:
The Point-7 AC-0 Racing No Cam 2024 has been developed throughout the season to improve its performance along the lines of the AC-1 and AC-2. A new leach outline has been designed to make the head smaller, lighter and faster. A more pronounced leach opening in the center of the outline and a stronger closure of the upper part of the leach. This gives more power and a higher speed through the sail.
Its Character:
The Point-7 AC-0 Racing No Cam 2024 is designed to be the fastest no cam sail on the water and has proven itself in many magazine tests without having a wide mast pocket and camber. The high-end performance gives you the high speed you've always dreamed of with minimal effort and easy handling characteristics. Probably the lightest no-cam sail with seven battens on the market. The high-end performance of the sail can be increased even further in overpowered conditions. Power and improved stability in both light and high wind conditions, combined with a very good locked-in feel that can only be compared to a camber sail. The low-cut foot encourages the rider to hold the sail in a committed position.
On the water:
If you can't believe that the sail has such outstanding performance without camber, just do the first jibe and you will immediately realize that the Point-7 AC-0 Racing No Cam 2024 really has no camber! The sail is balanced between both arms and delivers pure slalom performance on board and fin to keep the pressure on the rail. The sail has the same wind range as a pure race sail, it has amazing upwind performance for a non-cam sail. A deeper Dacron profile supports a comfortable drive through the jibe. The profile with the Dacron layers absorbs chop and waves, allowing more control and a higher average speed on the water. Once planing, the acceleration of the Point-7 AC-0 Racing No Cam 2024 is simply on another level - it finds another gear with every next gust. It demands a fast free race or slalom board that can keep up with it! When you venture into the power and overpower conditions, you discover the true personality of the AC-0. The pressure point is firmly anchored yet high enough that it's best suited to riders with a confident riding style. It helps to lift the rider's stance and increase the speed of the board so that it flies on its fin. The Point-7 AC-0 Racing No Cam 2024 has the balance and handling to position itself easily. The lower luff panel breathes to soften the transition and provide the extra low-end power to complete the transition efficiently.
Materials:
1. 5mil Anti UV- X-ply base plate to protect against accidents. All of our Ply, X-ply, and Scrims monofilm are made in the United States.
2. Anti-UV transparent gray window to have a 100% anti-UV monofilm sail.
3. Lower Dacron luff panel for extra power and comfort
4. 4mil Anti UV X-ply laminate for high reactivity.
5. X-ply alternating batten pockets for reduced weight and reflex. 7 tubular battens to follow the pure slalom profile of the sail. Each batten is easy to install and replace.
6. High X-Ply luff panel for fast reflex.
7. Full Kevlar strip under each luff panel to increase reactivity and compensate for on-cams over the boon, increasing stability.
8. An X-Ply luff panel from top to bottom to provide additional stability to the entire rig.
Target Development:
Designedto eliminate all the annoying details that cam sails suffer from, but with the goal of having pure slalom racing performance to annoy cam sails. All this while allowing the rider to save more energy to stay on the water all day.
Rigging:
The Point-7 AC-0 Racing No Cam 2024 is easy to rig and requires a reasonable amount of effort to balance the moderate luff curve and apply the required luff outhaul, which is guided by the visual aid in the top panel. It can be rigged with both rdm and sdm masts, although from 6.5 the use of the sdm mast gives better performance. Playing with the luff increases performance or improves control. Tighten the bottom 2 battens and the top batten, but only remove the wrinkles on the other batten without tightening it too much.
