THE 2 IN 1 WITHOUT COMPROMISE. FREERIDE SIMPLICITY REIGNED WITH CAM RACING PERFORMANCE
Designed for:
Haveyou ever dreamed of having a no cam sail that has the same performance as a real cam racing sail? Or have you ever dreamed of having a cam sail with the weight of a no cam sail? The Point-7 AC-2 Racing 2 Cam 2024 is both! With only two lower cams, built like the AC-One, as a pure racing sail, a wide pocket under the boom, but above the boom a pure slalom no cam sail!
About this sail:
- Unique on the market in its kind.
- The most powerful sail on the market with 2 cambers.
- No-cam mast pocket on the top, race pocket under the boom.
- 2 cambers under the boom.
- Excellent in a wide range of wind conditions.
- Power and improved stability in both light and strong winds.
- Locked-in feeling that can only be compared to a camber sail.
- Light and easy feeling, comparable only to a non-cambered sail.
- A must for anyone who has never had a camber sail before.
What's new:
The AC-2 Racing 2 Cam 2024 has been developed throughout the season to improve its performance along the lines of the AC-1 LTD and AC-1 PRO. A more pronounced leech opening in the middle part of the outline and a stronger closure of the upper part of the leech. This results in a faster release over a larger area of the sail and a stronger winglet effect. This provides more power and higher speed in the sail.
Its Character:
The Point-7 AC-2 Racing 2 Cam 2024 has a deep profile in the lower part of the sail, which extends up to the height of the boom and becomes flatter over the boom, but continues all the way to the top. From the base to the boom it has a wide sleeve like a race sail, but above this it contracts completely into a no-cam sleeve. There are 2 cams under the boom, which are constructed in the same way as the other cams sails. The slalom base, the outline and the leech opening are the classic Point-7 trademarks. Thanks to the wide lower mast pocket, inserting the mast is as easy as with a cams sail, i.e. the mast slides directly into the top without any effort. Adjust a little luff, retract the 2 cams in no time at all, then furl the sail to the final setting and you're ready to set the boom and hit the water.
On the water:
Yes, it has cams, although you won't feel them in the gybes as the XXL cam under the boom takes all the responsibility for the smoothest rotation that only a camless sail can offer. Yes, it has a wide mast sleeve that shifts the board like a pure race sail, but you won't notice it during water starts as the wide mast sleeve is directly under the boom. This makes the sail light and without water on the upper part, which makes water launching as easy as with a wave sail. Once you close the gap, the pressure and drive that the Point-7 AC-2 Racing 2 Cam 2024 brings to your board will remind you that the sail has a wide sleeve and cams. The Point-7 AC-2 Racing 2 Cam 2024 will give you numbers you've never seen on your GPS before.
On the straight line: When cruising, the power of the wider lower pocket and the two cams provide the same drive as a pure race sail. It does not suffer in calm conditions and the windier it is, the faster it accelerates. You won't notice that it is a sail without camber, and those who have never had camber will discover a new world of acceleration, speed and stability...and forget that they have a sail with two cambers!
In the jibe: Carving the board has never been so nice, because the power is down and frontal to lock the board in place and tame it with precision. When you turn the sail, you don't feel the cams moving to the new turn. The XXL Point-7 cams create a quick leverage effect on the battens to enable a smooth and perfectly timed change. This means that rider errors are not penalized. You go to the beach and check whether the large XXL cam is really in.
In the event of a fall: Don't worry, there's no wide mast pocket from the boom to the top of the sail. It's as easy as pulling up a wave sail or water start. No water can get into the lower wide sleeve.
Materials:
1. 5mil Anti UV- X-ply base plate to protect against accidents. All of our Ply, X-ply, and Scrims monofilm are made in the United States.
2. Anti-UV transparent gray window to have a 100% anti-UV monofilm sail.
3. X-ply alternating batten pockets for lighter weight and reflectivity. 7 tubular battens to follow the pure slalom foil profile of the sail. Each batten is easy to fit and replace.
4. Lower wide Dacron sleeve for extra power and comfort. Two cams for maximum drive and buttery smooth rotation.
5. High X-ply luff panels for fast reflexes, small sleeve for easy handling and low weight.
6. 4mil Anti UV X-ply laminate for high reactivity.
7. Full Kevlar strips under each luff panel to increase reactivity and compensate for the missing cams over the boom, increasing stability.
8. A luff X-Ply panel from top to bottom over the entire luff length to increase the stability of the entire rig.
Target Development:
Designed to eliminate all the annoying details of cam sails and no-cam sails. A no-cam sail that has the positive effects of a cam sail and a cam sail that has all the positive effects of a no-cam sail. Pure slalom-cam performance, pure no-cam simplicity. All in one!
Rigging:
The Point-7 AC-2 Racing 2 Cam 2024 is very easy to rig. The insertion of the mast is as easy as with a nock sail, as the wider part of the sleeve on the underside of the Point-7 AC-2 Racing 2 Cam 2024 allows the mast to be pushed in completely straight. Pull the luff adjuster in about 10-15 cm from the desired luff adjuster setting. Without the boom, open the zippers of the nock and push the batten behind the nock with one hand and push the nock in with the other to tension the mast. This can be done in no time at all. Then pull the downhaul, using the visual aid in the top panel as a guide. It can only be rigged sdm from 6.4 at the top and rdm from 5.8 at the bottom. Playing with the downhaul will increase performance or improve control. Tighten the bottom 2 battens and the top batten, but only remove the wrinkles on the other batten without over tightening.
